This time, we're introducing "Wisteria Flowers," located in the Ruili Scenic Area of Chiayi County.
You don't have to go to Japan to see wisteria flowers.
Actually, you can see it in Chiayi too!
Strolling through the clouds, accompanied by wisteria blossoms,
Like a cascade of purple mist and blossoms,
As if climbing up to a fairyland.
Directions: Follow County Road 166 in Chiayi County toward Ruili.
Alternatively, you can navigate to "Rui Li Elementary School," which is approximately a 2-hour drive from downtown Chiayi City.
For detailed blooming updates, visit Ruili Wisteria's Facebook page:

Friendly reminder: There are no gas stations on the mountain, so remember to fill up your tank at the base before heading up!
Additional Recommended Itineraries and Trail Introductions:
Trails in Ruili Scenic Area (from outer to inner sections along County Road 166):
1. Yun Tan Waterfall:
71K points, 617 steps, slightly steep terrain,
The round trip takes about an hour. Water levels are low in winter. There's a snack shop called Yun Tan Shop.
2. Yuanta Natural Ecology Park:
At the 71.5K mark, there is a visitor center and a snack bar selling food and drinks.
You can also enjoy small waterfalls and mountain trout. The trail is easy and suitable for all ages, taking about 40 minutes round trip.
3. Youth Ridge Trail: The Millennium Bat Cave and Swallow Cliff
Along the 72K road to Ruili Farm, you can park your car by the roadside.
There are stairs to climb, which can be physically demanding (proceed at your own pace). The round trip takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We recommend returning by the same route and avoiding the Youth Ridge (1,900 steps) ascent to Ruili Elementary School (only one path for both ascent and descent, making it inconvenient for both directions).
4. Green Tunnel:
Near approximately 79K, the lush bamboo forest trail is gentle and free of stairs.
The round trip takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. On holidays, the rest stop offers handmade grass jelly and aiyu jelly.
5. Wild Ginger Flower Creek Trail:
The trail is flat with no stairs, and the round trip takes about 50 minutes.
The flowering season is approximately from late July to September.
Since the Ruili Scenic Area is a bit farther from downtown Chiayi,
The drive also takes about 2 hours.
In terms of transportation, it's not particularly convenient.
There are only two bus trips per day.
So if you want to take the bus,
I'd recommend staying overnight there!
There is also some distance between attractions.
Please still consider carefully whether to take public transportation.
